‘MATHS TEST’ - 2025

I noticed that I haven’t really made that many character illustrations that are set in specific environments lately. I also don’t remember anything I’ve drawn lately where the characters actually interact with the objects and their environment, either. I’ve decided to practice that in making this illustration, so this is my first time in a while, if not, ever.

Also, I know there are colour theory tutorials here and there that teach you how to colour and shade in a way to prevent your colours from looking flat and not vibrant (I.e. making shadows and lighting within/near the same colour on the colour wheel, and having the line art be pure black). I’ve deliberately ignored those rules for this illustration in particular. I wanted the colours to feel nostalgic and feel like the past, not only because that was my colouring style back then (when I was 12-14), but also because to me, those colours just feel that way, like a classroom.
